Measure, Act and Transform

Since 2019, Bollé Safety has operated under a powerful three-phase framework: Measure, Act, and Transform. Their goal is to build sustainability into every step of product development without compromising on protection or performance. Utilising the GHG Protocol, Bollé Safety actively tracks their environmental footprint across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. They also monitor biodiversity impact using the Global Biodiversity Score and calculate the CO2 output of each eco-designed product. This data-first approach is the foundation for meaningful, measurable change.

Transforming Eyewear Through Eco-Innovation

Bollé Safety's product development is built on strict sustainability criteria. Each eco-product must meet at least three benchmarks:

	>20% recycled or bio-based material (certified)
	>50% renewable energy in the production process
	>20% CO2 reduction compared to standard models

In 2024, these standards delivered real results. Products like the SWIFT OTG use 33% recycled polycarbonate and offer up to 74% lower emissions than its predecessor. The STKS 410 and STKS 420 models incorporate 71% and 64% recycled PC, achieving CO2 reductions of up to 71%. 1% of revenue from these STKS models is donated to environmental causes through the 1% for the Planet initiative.

Better Materials, Smarter Packaging

From product to packaging, Bollé Safety aims to reduce waste across the board. With all their products now being shipped in either:

100% recycled polybags FSC-certified paper and cardboard Plastic-free alternatives

This commitment goes beyond materials. The SPECTRUM Safety Goggles and GLOBE Safety Goggles are manufactured using 100% renewable energy and packaged entirely in recycled materials. These models have achieved CO₂ reductions of 65.6% and 66.3%, respectively, without sacrificing performance or durability. It's a clear demonstration of how environmental responsibility and product excellence can go hand in hand.

Their mono-material eyewear designs are also fully recyclable and metal-free, enhancing circularity across the product lifecycle. To reduce logistics-related emissions, air freight is avoided except for prescription eyewear.
