Discover how Mayo Hardware and glove manufacturer ATG® are partnering to reduce waste, cut carbon emissions, and deliver high-performance PPE backed by global certifications and circular design.
A Partnership Built on Purpose
As the exclusive sales partner for ATG® in Australia and New Zealand, Mayo Hardware plays a key role in delivering PPE solutions with proven environmental and social responsibility. Together with ATG®, they’re proving that innovation in PPE doesn’t need to come at the expense of the planet.
Mayo’s own operations reflect this commitment. Since 2022, solar panels installed at their Sydney head office and warehouse have helped reduce energy usage, complemented by on-site EV charging stations to support staff in making greener transport choices. They're also certified under Sedex’s SMETA 4-Pillar Audit, which assesses environmental practices, labour standards, and supply chain ethics.
Gloves Designed with the Planet in MindThe sustainability story starts at the source. ATG® manufactures all of its gloves in-house, giving it full control over emissions, materials, and waste. Since 85% of a glove’s carbon footprint comes from manufacturing, ATG® has invested in solar infrastructure that now generates over one megawatt of power — cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 150 tons in its first year alone. ATG®’s latest gloves go a step further by incorporating recycled polyester yarns sourced from post-consumer materials. Certified by Control Union Certification BV, these fibres meet stringent sustainability and traceability standards. Each glove is also washable up to three times without losing its protective properties, extending product life, and keeping more waste out of landfills. Their production doesn’t go to waste either. Rubber offcuts are upcycled into playground mats and building blocks, which are donated to local communities, supporting practical circular solutions. |
Certifications That Go Beneath the Surface
ATG® gloves are made with non-toxic materials that meet the rigorous standards of European REACH regulations. They are certified free from harmful substances by Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and are dermatologically accredited by the Skin Health Alliance. These third-party validations ensure the gloves are safe for both users and the environment.

As a member of the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) program and a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant, Mayo ensures that packaging is not only recyclable but also clearly labelled to reduce contamination in the waste stream. They are also a member of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), reinforcing their commitment to ethically sourced paper and cardboard packaging that protects biodiversity, fair labour, and forest sustainability. |

Responsible From Start to Finish
Whether it's reducing transport emissions with EV infrastructure or enforcing ethical trade through the SMETA audit, Mayo’s internal operations reflect the same values that ATG® builds into every glove. Together, they are aligning manufacturing, packaging, sourcing, and social impact into one unified goal of a safer, smarter, and more sustainable supply chain.
